Day 1.- We’ll be waiting at the airport to welcome you and whisk you to our centrally located office. Traveling light into the jungle? Perfect. Any luggage you won’t need at the lodge can be safely stored with us — making your river journey smooth and effortless.
Then it’s time to step into adventure.
Into the Amazon by River
We board our river vessel, “Puerto Bolívar,” and glide along the Madre de Dios River for a scenic 40-minute journey deep into the rainforest. The city fades, the jungle rises, and just like that… you’re somewhere extraordinary.
Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll be greeted with refreshing seasonal fruit drinks — the first taste of the Amazon. Your guide will walk you through everything you need to know for your stay before handing over the keys to your private bungalow and in-room safe.
Lunch is served in our riverside dining area, followed by time to relax before your first exploration. (Guests arriving after 1:00 pm will receive a delicious eco-friendly boxed lunch made from 100% recyclable materials.)
3:30 pm – Into the Wild
Your first immersion into the rainforest begins. Guided through 60 hectares of protected Brazil nut forest, you’ll discover towering tropical trees, medicinal plants, and the intricate ecosystem that makes this region one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
You’ll also visit a recreated shiringuero (rubber tapper) camp, where you’ll learn how latex is harvested and transformed into everyday products — a fascinating glimpse into one of the Amazon’s historic economic activities.
This two-hour trek is your first true connection with the jungle — and trust us, it won’t be your last.
Back at the lodge, the evening is yours. Lounge by the pool. Swing in a hammock on your private terrace. Sip an exotic cocktail at the bar. Indulge in a relaxing massage. Browse handcrafted rainforest souvenirs. Or simply head to the riverbank and watch the sunset paint the sky in impossible colors.
7:00 pm – Caiman Night Safari
As dusk falls, we head out by boat in search of caimans along the riverbanks. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter other nocturnal wildlife that emerges after dark. The Amazon at night? Pure magic.
8:00 pm – Dinner by the River
Enjoy a flavorful dinner in our riverside dining room as the sounds of the jungle surround you.
Day 2.-
5:30 am – Sunrise in the Amazon
Wake early for coffee or tea before departing for Lake Sandoval. Your guide will provide a packed breakfast and snack for the journey ahead.
6:00 am – Tambopata National Reserve
After a short 20-minute boat ride, we arrive at the entrance to Lake Sandoval. A 3 km guided walk through lush rainforest leads you into the heart of Tambopata National Reserve. Along the way, you may spot squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, capuchins, snakes, and vibrant birdlife — including the unforgettable hoatzin (nicknamed the “stink bird”), kingfishers, and snakebirds.
At the lake, we board small rowing boats and glide across calm waters in search of giant river otters — one of the Amazon’s most charismatic species. Keep your eyes open for reptiles, birds, and mammals thriving in their natural habitat.
When we find the perfect quiet spot, we pause to enjoy breakfast surrounded by untouched wilderness.
Later, we row back and return to the lodge.
3:30 pm – Canopy Tower & Sunset Views
In the afternoon, we visit one of our impressive observation towers — rising 20 or 42 meters above the forest floor. From this elevated vantage point, you’ll witness the rainforest canopy come alive with birdlife and possibly other wildlife moving high above.
And the sunset from here? Absolutely unforgettable.
You’ll also visit a working Brazil nut camp, where harvesters live during the season. Learn how this prized nut — known locally as castaña — supports families and plays a vital role in the regional economy.
8:00 pm – Dinner
Another delicious evening meal awaits.
