Introductory jungle walk and take the Twilight River excursion

DAY 1
Touch down in Puerto Maldonado, the vibrant heart of biodiversity! Your thrilling Amazon adventure kicks off with a 25-minute boat ride through the muddy waters of the Madre de Dios River, bringing you to the stunning Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion lodge. Settle into your stylish stilted wooden cabaña or eco-chic room on the private reserve, surrounded by the untamed beauty of the Amazon.

Refuel with a mouthwatering à-la-carte lunch at the charming palm-thatched Casa Grande dining room, before heading out for your first exhilarating rainforest exploration. Lace up your boots and wander the Concepcion Trails, cutting through the lush jungle on an immersive journey into the rich ecosystems of the Amazon basin. Surrounded by the protected Tambopata National Reserve and nestled atop a former cacao and rubber plantation, this lodge is teeming with exotic wildlife and vibrant tropical plants.

As the sun begins to dip, get ready for a magical transformation—the rainforest shifts from day to night, and the jungle awakens in a whole new way. Embark on a guided Twilight River boat ride, where the sounds of daytime creatures fade, and the mysterious night-dwellers come to life. Keep your eyes peeled for lurking caimans along the riverbanks and the mesmerizing stars of the southern hemisphere above.

As night falls, indulge in a tantalizing à-la-carte dinner, infused with the unique flavors of the Amazon. Afterward, retreat to your cabaña, where the enchanting calls and croaks of the rainforest lull you to sleep, setting the stage for even more thrilling adventures tomorrow.

DAY 4

Embark on a mouthwatering adventure through the Amazon with our Cacao Excursion! This morning, step into an ancient cocoa and rubber plantation, where you’ll witness firsthand the magical transformation of cacao—from fruit to decadent dessert. Depending on the season, pluck a fresh cacao pod straight from the tree, then roll up your sleeves to peel and grind toasted cacao nibs. The experience wouldn’t be complete without indulging in a selection of homemade chocolate delights during our special tea time—a true treat for the senses!

After lunch, dive into the fascinating world of the Brazil nut tree (Bertholletia excelsa), a rainforest giant that can live for over 500 years! Discover its vital role in the local economy and the demanding yet rewarding process of harvesting these prized nuts. Using traditional tools and techniques, you’ll gain hands-on insight into how Brazil nuts are collected, processed, and turned into one of the Amazon’s most valuable exports.

Get ready to taste, touch, and experience the Amazon like never before!

DAY 5

Savor your final morning in the heart of the Amazon as the rainforest comes to life around you. Wake up to the lively chatter of parakeets flitting through the trees and the playful rustling of monkeys swinging overhead—nature’s own farewell symphony.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Casa Grande, soaking in the last moments of this unforgettable escape. Check-out is at 10:00 AM, but if your flight allows, a delicious lunch can be arranged for an extra treat before your departure.

Then, step aboard your waiting motorized wooden boat for one last journey along the Madre de Dios River. As you glide through the winding waters on a 25-minute ride back to the airport, take in the breathtaking sights of the jungle one last time—letting the Amazon’s magic leave its mark on your soul.
